Everyone within your practice should be constantly “on the lookout” for anything that just doesn’t look right. Just a few examples of potential concerns:
Each staff member should visually inspect their work-area every shift to see what (if anything) may have changed. If they do identify a change, they should follow up with their supervisor or manager immediately to make sure that the change is legitimate and is not a threat to your network security. Every manager or supervisor should visually inspect technology throughout your facility during MBWA. They should be looking for anything that may have been modified on or around the network. Again, if a change is noted they should verify that it is legitimate. This is a very simple process. It requires a minimal amount of introduction and training for your team. The benefits are outstanding. This team-effort helps protect your network, increases the general understanding and respect for the importance of network security and encourages appropriate “behavior” by the team where network security is concerned. This may be a cliche, but... it is a TEAM effort. Together Everyone Achieves More! Edward Kopp / Partner / Phoenix Dental IT, L.L.C.
